Trinidad is an undiscovered paradise. The last bastion of all the caribbean islands not yet overrun by camera-touting tourists.

Here you'll find endless hectares of pristine rainforest, secluded beaches, and rich Trinidadian culture and cuisine.

Located at 1,200 feet in the mountains of the Northern Range, seven miles north of the town of Arima, the Asa Wright Nature Centre (AWNC) is a world-class natural history destination for students of tropical ecology and is of particular interest to birdwatchers.

Alternatively, in the northeastern part of trinidad, there's Turtle Village Trust, in the quaint village of Matura. Here, at certain times of year one can observe leatherback sea turtles on the beach. While here, we at Mahogany Ridge recommend the ever charming and conveniently located Leatherback Lodge .

Paramin is a village located on one of the highest points in the western area of the Northern Range  and forms part of the Maraval area. It is a sprawling, steep and mountainous village whose residents have traditionally been farmers, producing herbs like chives, thyme and parsley, as well as vegetables like tomatoes and yams.

Near Paramin is Maraval, an affluent suburb of Port of Spain where you'll find the islands best beaches and St. Andrews Golf course, one of the finest in all of the Caribbean.

Maraval is also the home to many restaurants, shops, late-night cafes, and nightclubs.

Toco, a quaint village nestled in the northeast part of the island is another destination renowned for itsbeautiful beaches. Fed by the waters of the Alantic and the Caribbean sea, Toco is the closest point to the sister island of Tobago, some 35 kms away.

The Caroni Swamp is the second largest mangrove wetland in Trinidad and Tobago. It is located on the west coast of Trinidad, south of Port of Spain and northwest of Chaguanas, where the Caroni River meets the Gulf of Paria.
